Candidates and their representatives for the presidential nomination campaigned in La Crosse and at UW-L in preparation for the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Chelsea Clinton fielded questions on behalf of Sen. Hillary Clinton in Cartwright Center and visited Cecilia Manrique’s POL 205 Women and Politics class. Actor Brandon Routh, who starred in the movie “Superman Returns,” and Actor Kal Penn, best known as Kumar in the film “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle,” were in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center campaigning for Sen. Barack Obama. Michelle Obama spoke on Barack's behalf Feb. 18. Also in La Crosse were Gov. Mike Huckabee, who spoke at the La Crosse Center, and Sen. John McCain, who talked at the Radisson Hotel. The Wisconsin primary is Feb. 19.
